Ronald Freeman, of counsel in the Austin office, brings more than 40 years of experience to the firm. His areas of expertise include water law, utility law, environmental law and administrative law.

Immediately prior to joining the firm, Ron spent more than thirty years in private practice serving as counsel to cities, water districts, river authorities, private utility companies, non-profit water supply corporations, and land developers in regard to all aspects of water, wastewater and drainage utility operations; including creation and operation of districts, project construction, financing and permitting, utility system acquisitions, bond counsel, utility rate matters and legislative counseling.

Earlier in his career Ron was the VP of the Public Finance Department at InterFirst Bank Dallas where he served as a licensed municipal securities broker, providing financial assistance to cities, towns, water districts, and state agencies regarding the issuance of municipal bonds. Ron has also served as the Development Fund Manager for the Texas Water Development Board. Prior to this, Ron was an attorney in the Water Rights Section of the Texas Department of Water Resources before moving to Assistant General Counsel in the Financial Section of the Texas Department of Water Resources. He began his career in private legal practice concentrating in general civil practice.
