(DALLAS – December 13, 2021) – McCall Parkhurst & Horton (McCall), a Texas-based public finance law firm, announces that Mark Malveaux has been named the firm’s new Managing Partner and that Molly Carson and Lauren Ferrero have been promoted to Partner. The roles are effective as of January 1, 2022.
“I’m honored to lead McCall’s future as we expand our public finance law firm and visibility to serve more Texas communities and entities. It’s humbling to be elected by my partners to continue the legacy of our 102-year-old firm,” notes Malveaux.
Based in the firm’s Dallas office, Malveaux joined McCall in 1993 and has served as bond counsel to large transportation issuers such as Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART). He led the firm’s expansion to Houston in 2018 and is keen to continue its growth.
Carol (C.D.) Polumbo, who has served as the firm’s managing partner for the past eight years, will remain as an active partner in the firm’s Austin office. Polumbo shares, “Mark’s passion for our firm and practice area as well as his respect by colleagues and clients has not wavered in his almost three decades with McCall. I’m eager to watch him lead the charge.”
Along with Malveaux’s election, the firm has promoted two colleagues to partner. Associates Molly Carson of the Dallas office and Lauren Ferrero of the San Antonio office join the partnership, serving as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, and underwriters’ counsel for a variety of Texas entities.
“Molly and Lauren each bring a distinguished track record of success, service, and dedication to our clients and team. Their elevation to partner is well deserved,” says Malveaux.
As a firm, McCall serves as a long-standing bearer for diversity and inclusion efforts. Malveaux will be the first African American attorney to serve in the managing partner role for the firm and take the helm from the first female attorney serving in the role currently. The promotions of female attorneys Carson and Ferrero to partner brings the firm’s minority or female ownership to approximately 38%.
McCall has served as bond counsel on a number of transactions that have been recognized by The Bond Buyer for their unique contributions to and impact on public finance. The firm has been recognized by the publication for “Southwest Region Deal of the Year” seven times.
